On behalf of the Boyd family, it is with deep sadness that we inform you of the peaceful passing of Irene Boyd, wife of Kenneth Boyd (Honourary Member)  and mother to Robert (Honourary Member), Chris and Tim on Thursday Aug 27, 2020. Funeral services will be held at Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St. Orangeville, Ontario on Thursday Sept 3, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Due to COVID-19, there will only be allowed a limited amount of family and friends, as such,  the funeral will be presented virtually on the website of https://www.dodsandmcnair.com

Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Honourary Member “Murray Marshall King” on Thursday July 9, 2020.  Brother King will be resting at the Simple Alternative Funeral Centre-Pickering, (905) 686-5589.  Funeral will be held on Friday July 17, 2020 at 3:00 p.m., however, this will be a private function for the family due to the COVID-19 situation. You may contact the funeral home directly to see if there is any online condolences setup by the family.  In the event that a “Celebration of Life” will happen at a later date the family will notify us and we will post it on the website.  Please join me in extending our sympathies to his family and friends.

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Honourary Brother John “Jack” Byrne on Friday July 10, 2020 in his 88th year.  Brother Byrne was an active member since 1957 of IUEC Local 50 and retired honourably on June 1, 1995.

The family has informed us that there will be visitations held at the Oshawa Funeral Home located at 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Wednesday, July 15th, 2020, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The funeral will be a private family service due to the COVID-19 situation.  “Celebration of Life” will take place at a later date.  Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.  Online condolences may be made at www.oshawafuneralhome.com

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of our Honourary Brother Jay Olden on May 31, 2020.  Brother Olden was an active member of IUEC Local 50 for 32+ years and was known to always offer an assisting hand to his fellow Brothers and Sisters.  In the past, Brother Olden had served on the Executive Board and his various contributions to this Local Union were numerous and appreciated.
