It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of our Honourary Brother Dan Mishich on Tuesday May 30, 2017.  Brother Mishich will be resting at Aftercare Cremation & Burial Service – Toronto, located at 1097 O’Connor Drive, Toronto, ON  M4B 2T5, Telephone No. 416-440-8878.

Visitation:   Friday June 2, 2017 between 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 P.m.
Saturday June 3, 2017 between 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Service:       12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Funeral Home, followed by burial at Mount Pleasant Cemetery

 

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of our Honourary Brother William (Bill) Howitt on Saturday April 29, 2017.  Brother Howitt will be resting at the McIntosh-Anderson-Kellam Funeral Home located at 152 King Street East, Oshawa, Ontario on Saturday May 6th, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service in the Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Reception will follow at the funeral home.  Phone number (905) 433-5558

Please be advised that International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 125-A and National Elevator Escalator Association (NEEA) and the Construction Labour Relations Association of Newfoundland (CLRA) have agreed upon monetary terms and working conditions for a new 5 year Collective Bargaining Agreement expiring April 30th 2022. The membership of Local 125-A Newfoundland has ratified this new agreement and will be returning to work on 5/1/17

The Local 125-A Negotiating Committee along with the entire membership would like to thank all of the IUEC Locals Unions who financially supported our members and their families during this difficult time in obtaining a Collective Bargaining Agreement in Newfoundland.

The Greatest Strength of the IUEC, is the Brotherhood and un-wavering solidarity that all Elevator Constructors demonstrate when needed.

IUEC Local 50 will be holding an intake for the areas of North Bay, Sudbury, Timmins and Sault Ste. Marie.

 

Applicants must clearly state what municipality they live in for the intake committee.

Selected participants will be contacted by the committee and required to show identification that verifies the municipality you live in (photo ID with address).

You must submit your resume along with supporting documents of education to;

INTAKE PROCESS:

1. Email Resume with proof of education (OSSD or GED transcripts, Post Secondary Diploma or other)

2. IUEC Local 50 will review all emails from applicants

3. Local 50 will select applicants for further participation in the intake process

4. Successful applicants will challenge an aptitude test

    

Applicants that pass the aptitude test will then participate in further training buy Local 50.

 

Emails will only be accepted from March 27, 2017 until Friday April 7, 2017.
