March Updates We’re thrilled to introduce four new team members, Kyla, Tony, JP and Pat—all Veterans—who are dedicated to strengthening our mission of helping Veterans, military members, and their families transition into rewarding careers in the unionized construction industry. Their firsthand experience and commitment will enhance our outreach, support services, and employer connections across Canada. These new additions bring invaluable experience in various areas, including working with cadets, strong ties to the construction industry in Edmonton, and deep connections with Reservists and partners within the unionized skilled trades. With a wealth of regional representation, they are perfectly positioned to continue growing our network and furthering our mission. Join us in welcoming them as they help us continue building futures for those who served! 💪⚒️ Want to learn more about them? Terry Parker, Executive Director of Building Trades Alberta discusses the skilled trades as a great opportunity for Alberta Veterans and highlights the valuable support services offered by Helmets to Hardhats and our Skilled Pathway Program. We were joined by Member of Parliament Yasir Naqvi and other grant recipients from the Métis National Council as we announced our Building Skills, Building Futures project, an initiative designed to enhance the lives of transitioning Canadian Armed Forces members and their families by providing comprehensive career transition support. This project prioritizes inclusivity, ensuring that women, 2SLGBTQI+, marginalized Veterans, and Cadets have the tools and opportunities to build meaningful careers in the unionized construction industry. We are also in Dartmouth to meet with VETS Canada. VETS Canada has evolved from mostly assisting homeless veterans to also providing support to those facing difficulties of any kind. That could mean the inability to afford groceries or a power bill, or an emotional or mental health crisis, VETS Canada provides much needed support to Veterans across the country. Interested?
