That’s why IHSA is inviting construction and transportation workers to participate in StressAssess, a survey to identify and understand psychological stressors at workplaces, developed by the Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers (OHCOW). We were proud to help present these recent events: Oct. 24 & 25 The Fleet Safety Council’s Annual Educational Conference brought together more than 230 delegates, who recognized transportation safety excellence among their peers and heard in presentations on topics including cybersecurity, professional driver development, workplace culture, and crash investigations. Nov. 7 IHSA’s Timmins training centre hosted an open house followed by a meeting of the Timmins Regional Labour-Management Working Group, whose members discussed health and safety topics with representatives from the City of Timmins building and fire departments, as well as the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development. Nov. 13 The Toronto Regional Labour-Management Committee Health and Safety Summit at IHSA’s head office welcomed 65 attendees for workshops on stigma and mental health, supervisor responsibilities, developing a working at heights safety program, and fall protection equipment. Nov. 21 The third annual NCSO®/NHSA™ Educational Conference saw 215 participants assemble online to discuss a variety of health and safety best practices. They also heard from Threads of Life speaker Heather Maguire, who relayed the lasting impact of workplace tragedies—and why we must work together to prevent them. |
