Mission To promote public safety and prevent incidents by educating the riding public on the safe and proper use of elevators and escalators. Vision A world free of elevator and escalator incidents. Letter from the Executive Director Dear Reader, Happy Halloween! We have some fantastic updates for you this quarter! First, we want to thank our donors and sponsors. EESF is a 501(c)3 nonprofit with a mission to educate the riding public on the safe and proper use of elevators, escalators, and moving walkways, and we couldn’t do it without you. Thanks to your generosity, we have reached out to school children nationwide in new and unique ways this year. One final push with the 4th quarter Annual Campaign starts today. If you have been looking for a way to get involved, we would love to talk to you. Please reach out to me! Thank you to everyone who came to check it out and play with the BETA version! We are in the final stages of the app, and it is in the approval process with Apple and Google. We cannot wait to get this into your hands! We should have a release in mid-November! Watch for our special edition newsletter that will announce when the App Stores officially approve the app! Elevator Escalator Safety Week 2025 Every year, we celebrate Elevator and Escalator Safety Week during the second week of November; this year, that week is November 11-15! Let’s come together as an industry to share the five elevator golden rules and push out a unified message of safety across our social media! Each day, Monday through Friday, please share the following “Golden Rules” in ascending order. Use the posted hashtags #elevatorsafety and #verticaltransportation, and tag @ElevatorEscalatorSafetyFoundation. Together, we can make a significant impact with this message and reach a massive audience! 1.) #WatchYourStep when entering and exiting an elevator. 2.) #ProtectYourBody, and don’t try to stop the door from opening or closing with your arms, legs, feet, or hands! Instead, push the door open or door close buttons. 3.) #HoldTheRailing to prevent falls. 4.) #UseTheStairs in a fire! 5.) #StayCalmStayPutStaySafe If the doors don’t open, use the emergency button and wait for help. 2025 Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation Golf Outing Presented By Elevator World EESF will host its first golf outing at its Annual General Meeting in 2025.
