National Day of Truth and Reconciliation September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to honour survivors of Canada’s residential school system, every lost child, as well as their families and communities. We encourage you to wear orange to raise awareness of the day and honour the survivors of residential schools—and educate yourself about the unique history, culture, and beliefs of Indigenous peoples in Canada.    
IHSA’s AGM is just days away IHSA’s 2024 Annual General Meeting will be held in Mississauga on Wednesday, October 2 at 4 p.m., featuring a keynote speech by Threads of Life founder Shirley Hickman and IHSA’s annual industry awards ceremony. The AGM is currently at capacity.

NCSO®/NHSA Educational Conference IHSA’s third annual NCSO®/NHSAEducational Conference is scheduled for November 21. The half-day virtual event is a chance for National Construction Safety Officers and National Health and Safety Administrators to build their knowledge of relevant health and safety topics and learn more about some of the key areas important to maintaining their NCSO®/NHSA status. LCGS in Mississauga On September 9, IHSA kicked off a new session of our Line Crew Ground Support (LCGS) program—the first to be hosted at our Skills Development Centre in Mississauga. The 15-week training course helps prepare workers for careers in the powerline and construction industries—and gets them ready for a lifetime of making health and safety the top priority in their work.
