FEBRUARY HIGHLIGHTS

On the Job Site: H2H at the IWK Children’s Hospital Expansion Project

H2H Advisor Dave put on his hardhat to visit the IWK Children’s Hospital emergency department expansion with the Mainland NS Building Trades and NS Construction Sector Council!

Dave had a great visit to the job site, “It was fantastic to see so many unionized construction workers building this major project in Halifax. I talked with members from IBEW 625, UA 56 and Heat and Frost 116 to name a few. So many who are veterans or have strong military connections and thriving in this career. Value on display, every day.”

Thank you to Ellis Don for inviting us to showcase the great work being done!

February is Black History Month, and IUPAT DC 46 commemorated this important occasion in a truly remarkable way. Many dignitaries from federal, provincial, and municipal levels of government were in attendance, along with the IUPAT Assistant President-General from Washington, DC. Several distinguished guests had the opportunity to address the audience and share meaningful remarks in recognition of the significance of Black History Month.
